Welcome to the website for Daisy Thurkettle-Roper

Daisy is a PhD student at the University of Leeds. Her thesis examines representations of eroticism in ancient Greek vase-painting and literature. A a violinist and singer, Daisy plays for two bands: The Lovesick Cowboys, a five piece honky-tonk, country, bluegrass band, and The Old Time String Band, a duet of blues, ragtime and Dixieland jazz.

Daisy also promotes and celebrates the prospecting for Gold, and is currently writing a book about historical gold rushes, panning techniques and the experiences of a childhood immersed in this ancient art.
